Ms. Vickie Johnson

About Vickie

For over 42 years Vickie Johnson continues to make San Fernando Valley healthier through body movement. She has received numerous awards and commendations for her work within the communities she serves. Earlier in her dance career she trained a multiple award-winning gospel dance group name Ladies First and II Hype. They travel the states winning multiple competitions. Some of the young ladies were from broken homes, low economical status and needed adult help and guidance. Once they aged out of the dance competition world, Ms. Vickie’s desire to help and inspire the community did not stop. She found another passion in keeping our senior population healthy and in motion. In 2010 she started the Souls Sisters Line Dance group, teaching them health and wellness through dance. The ages of this group range from 55 to 84. The theme is DANCE, CELEBRATE LIFE!

Being ahead of her time, she discerned that dance has benefits. She herself has had 2 heart attacks and is no stranger to multiple medical conditions but she keeps teaching and motivating seniors to stay active. During this health and wellness journey Ms. Vickie has lost 120 pounds and has control over her diabetes, blood pressure, and stress. Through God’s gift of creative dance, she has helped people across multiple states and at sea. The Souls Sisters are a traveling group and they have performed for the Clippers halftime show, on The Jennifer Hudson show, Carnival Caribbean/Mexican cruise, The Taste of Soul Los Angeles and alongside R&B greats Next, King George and Klymaxx. They have been interviewed by channel 5 news, Daily Newspaper, and multiple local papers and pod casts.
